About Us
William Glasser Institute (Singapore) (WGI(S)) is part of a global non-profit network dedicated to advancing the work of Dr. William Glasser in Choice Theory®, Reality Therapy®, Lead Management, and Glasser Quality Schools. Introduced to Singapore in 1989 by Dr. Robert Wubbolding, WGI(S) has since supported thousands of educators, counsellors, managers, and helping professionals through training, workshops, and certification programmes.
Dr. Glasser’s visits in the 1990s and 2001 strengthened the institute’s presence locally, leading to the adoption of Choice Theory and Reality Therapy across education, social services, healthcare, defence, and correctional settings. A key milestone was the introduction of CTRT training at Singapore Changi Prison in 2003, which later expanded to all prison counsellors.
Renamed WGI(S) in 2006, the institute continues to promote Choice Theory® psychology as a practical and empowering approach to life and work.
